Recognition for Vision 2026:  Children who were adopted from Assam Riot affected families passed the CBSE Examination with excellent marks.

New Delhi: 26 July 2020

It is so delightful to share that the first batch with 33 students of “The Scholar School” Guwahati under Human Welfare Foundation appeared in class X final examination under CBSE for the season 2019-20 passed with a stunning 100 percent success rate making all the teachers, parents, students of the School proud alike.

Moreover, it is a recognition to all the donors, well-wishers, staff and management of “Vision 2026” that this includes 28 children adopted by the Human Welfare Foundation from the affected families of Assam Riot in 2012. Out of the 28 students 11 obtained distinction marks and 16 got first division. Aslima Akhtar topped with an astonishing score of 86.8% , following close behind Nur Amin Dewan with 86.4%. Moving on, Md Abdul Moeid and Arif Khan scored 83.8% and 80% successively.

That was a time of fear, distress and terror that prevailed across the BTAD (Bodoland Territorial Area District) of Assam in 2012. Thousands of houses were burnt, hundreds of people were killed and lakhs of people were driven out from their base by the miscreants.  As a result, hundreds of children became orphans, some lost father, some lost mother or siblings. At that hour of horror, the Human welfare Foundation extended its helping hand to the affected people and adopted a hundred children who had neither shelter nor future. All of them were taken to The Scholar School with the intention of making a difference in their lives and building their future. Accordingly, they were accommodated in hostels and admitted in a school in class 1-4. Tuition, accommodation, books, uniform, medicine, etc were given free of cost.

In those days there was only fear in their eyes. They were freighted, grieved, starved, and voiceless. They were physically and mentally depressed and tired.  They have been counselled, guided, inspired, motivated, and nourished in such a way that they never felt they were alone. To develop their academic skill, their lifestyle, etc. the school had taken various initiatives. Through different extra curricular activities and cultural programs school uplifted and empowered these students from mental pressure and trauma. Students also took part in various inter-school and zonal competitions and brought laudable laurels to the school. Now, these students are helping hands for the needy people in their own village helping the villagers to fill-up the form for NRC, Aadhar, and Government Schemes.

Really, it is a pleasant moment for The Scholar School that all the students of the first batch have successfully passed with excellent marks and school is starting class 11 with recognition of state government from the academic year 2020-21 and most of the 10th pass students prefer the Scholar School as their first choice for Higher Secondary Education.

The Scholar School and Hostel were established by Human Welfare Foundation in 2012 at Satgaon in Guwahati of Assam with the support of Dr. T Ahmed (Al Noor Group) and Mohammed Soopy (Families Group) with the aim of imparting eagerness of knowledge and learning among the poor, marginalized and unprivileged section of the northeast especially Assam. Currently, school is having around 400 students. The school received state permission for starting higher secondary class from the current academic year. Human Welfare is will continue its support to the adopted students till the completion of their education.
