Human Welfare Foundation Launched Hunger Relief Project, ‘Project Ehsas’

The Human Welfare Foundation under the aegis of Vision 2026 launches its hunger relief initiative named ‘Project Ehsas’ on 20th October 2021 by setting up a community kitchen at Kanchan Kunj, New Delhi where a large number of migrant workers and slum dwellers struggle to make both ends meet.

The project has been initiated in the wake of the worsening hunger crisis due to the Corona-induced lockdown and consequent loss of jobs in India. As the catastrophe of the prolonged series of lockdown was unfolding, HWF initiated the food distribution project to promote food security for the disposed and the marginalized of our land.
Project Ehsas aims to serve cooked meals to the marginalized and the downtrodden to address the worsening hunger crisis induced by Covid related lockdowns and consequent job losses.

The community kitchen has been equipped with high standards of hygiene and has the capacity to cook 3000 meals at a time.

HWF plans to start more community kitchens in different parts of the country in the coming days. The prime mission of HWF is to address the UN’s sustainable development goal of ‘ZERO HUNGER’.

The Community Kitchen has the capacity of preparing and serving 3000 meals at a time. A similar community kitchen is already functioning in Kolkata city, serving meals in various slums, streets, and hospitals.

The Foundation realizes the pressing need to contribute to the cause of hunger eradication, as both hunger and poverty are global pandemics that warrant shared responses at various levels to decrease it.

Human Welfare foundation relies on donors and their generous support to transform this noble initiative into a movement of Hunger-Free India.

Project Ehsas and the community kitchen were formally launched on 20th October 2021 by Shri Padmakar Ram Tripathi, ADM, South East Delhi, and the community kitchen in the presence of Dr. Hassan Raza, Trustee of Human Welfare Foundation and former HoD, University of Ranchi, PK Noufal, CEO, Human Welfare Foundation, Dr. Mohammed Javed, Medical Superintendent, Alshifa Multispeciality Hospital, Okhla, Delhi, and other dignitaries.
