Vision 2026, under the aegis of its flagship initiative, the Human Welfare Foundation, marked a significant achievement in its mission to promote educational empowerment with the inauguration of the Saiyid Hamid Block at The Scholar School in Jamia Nagar, Delhi. The new three-story block, dedicated to the memory of Saiyid Hamid—a distinguished educationist, social reformer, and founding Chairman of the Human Welfare Foundation—represents a crucial step forward in the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to uplift and empower marginalized communities.
The newly inaugurated block features a multipurpose hall, and classrooms spread across two floors, reflecting the Foundation’s commitment to providing high-quality education to the underserved. The Scholar School, established in 2010, currently serves over 800 students from kindergarten to 8th grade, supported by 40 trained teachers. The school is well-equipped with modern amenities, including a well-stocked library, smart classrooms, and a computer lab featuring interactive digital facilities.
The inaugural ceremony took place on Monday, 12th August 2024, in the Saiyid Hamid Hall of the new block. Sh. Ajay Kumar Gupta, IAS, District Magistrate of South East Delhi, officially opened the Saiyid Hamid Block. The event was attended by T Arifali, Chairman of Vision 2026; Siraj Hussain, IAS (Retd.) Chairman of the Human Welfare Foundation; M Sajid Abdulla, General Secretary of the Human Welfare Foundation; Engr. Mohammed Salim, Trustee of the Human Welfare Trust; PK Noufal, CEO of the Human Welfare Foundation; Mehpara Jan, Principal of The Scholar School; and Mohammed Arif, Senior Manager of the Human Welfare Foundation.
Saiyid Hamid, a former Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), was a towering figure in India’s educational and social sectors. His contributions to the High-Level Committee on the Social, Economic, and Educational Status of the Muslim Community of India, widely known as the Sachar Committee, were instrumental in shaping policies for the empowerment of marginalized communities. His lifelong advocacy for inclusive policies and affirmative action continues to inspire efforts aimed at addressing the socio-economic challenges faced by Muslims in India.
The inauguration of the Saiyid Hamid Block is more than just a tribute to a visionary leader; it is a significant step in Vision 2026’s ongoing journey to empower communities through education, ensuring that every child has access to quality education, regardless of their background.
